Apple does Safari wrong! (for Windows)

Talk about fixing something that isn’t broken!

Apple is making me sad. I’m a Windows user. But I used to love the sleek and downright artistic design of Mac’s browser Safari on my Vista. That is when the Windows version used to look exactly like the Mac version.

But for some reason Apple has decided to give the Windows version of Safari a look that is more familiar to Windows users, as they put it. But instead, they have massacred the look and now Safari for Windows looks like the mutated child that would be born if the two operating systems mated. Seriously. Look!

Oh the humanity.

The worst thing is: the browser still crashes often and fails to work properly for some Web 2.0 features. For someone like me who cares for how things look as well as their functionality, there really doesn’t seem to be any reason to upgrade to the latest mutant version, aka version 4 (for Windows).

I am really hoping Apple would bring back the Mac look for Safari on Windows. There was nothing wrong with it. But there is much wrong with the current v.4’s strange Chrome wannabe appearance. It is, quite frankly, disturbingly unApple.

In my opinion, Apple should always hang onto the integrity of their GUI design, even for apps they make for Windows.
